So I got this stereo (top end at Target) with surround sound. Only thing is for some reason the rear speakers aren't working. What's up with that? Anything I can trouble shoot for or do I take it back to the store? I bought it in July so the warranty is probably quite limited.

Tue, November 15, 2005 - 4:05 PMmost of the time a surround sound system has different modes on - such as virtual surround, doly pro logic, dolby digital, or just plain stereo. cd play on just plain stereo, and movies will (usually) use the other types of surround.
so first thing to check is whther you have the right settings on. there is no way to play dolby digital off a cd, you can play pro logic off a cd, but the rear speakers will only have specific ambient sounds coming out them.
are you looking for music or movies sound is the real question? -
